Hello beauties! Sorry it's been such a long time (I'm sure nobody cares but I like to flatter myself and think that you do), I started writing up my March favourites but got distracted and never finished them - oops! Oh well, April faves it is then! Until then, I thought I'd review some products from Superdrug's new range, B. which launched fairly recently.
In case you don't know, B. is a range of skincare and makeup from Superdrug which is supposed to be like their version of Boots No7. Seeing as I love No7, I'm excited to try out some B. products and see how they compare!
I picked up the B. Ready Day Cream and the B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser. It was actually on offer so that with any purchase of a B. day cream you received a free cleanser which was great as I'd almost run out of my beloved Peaches 'n' Clean (which Boots was annoyingly out of).
I had seen some reviews of the day cream and was interested to try it out as it claimed to keep the skin hydrated whilst boosting radiance and controlling blemishes. This doesn't have a skin type recommendation but it is recommended for 20-30 year olds. It has an spf of 15 which is great seeing as England is finally brightening up a bit! The actual consistency of the cream is quite light, it feels like the perfect weight for a day cream and initially I was really impressed with it! It seemed to thicken a little as I worked it into the skin however, after about 5 minutes, it had dried to a rather powdery and dry finish. This isn't the first moisturiser that I've experienced this reaction with on my rather dry skin. Although my face didn't feel tight or uncomfortable after, I knew it just wasn't enough moisture for me and because of that, I found it wasn't a good base for makeup for me. However, this was mainly due to my skin type and so I would say this would be great for a normal/combo skin. If you have dry/very dry skin like moi, I wouldn't waste the £10.
The cleanser, on the other hand, I bloody love! It's recommended for normal/dry skin and I would say that's true; probably not very dry though as it can sometimes make my skin feel a teeny bit tight if I don't use my toner quick enough. I use this cleanser at night with my Sonicleanse (cheap dupe for the Clarisonic) and I couldn't be happier! When I first started using this, I had large breakouts on my cheeks because of a cream I had used which didn't agree with my skin. This cleanser cleaned them right up, within a few days. My skin has seriously never been this clear or smooth, it's amazing!
Overall, I'm very happy with my purchases! And very impressed by B.! Althought I presonally don't like the day cream I can see that it would work for other people and, of course, I couldn't be happier with the cleanser. I cannot wait to try out some of their makeup! I don't know whether my local Superdrug will be installing a B. stand (last time I was there they had skincare, but no makeup) but even if they don't, I'll pop into a Superdrug slightly further afield to pick some goodies up.
Day Cream: 2/5
Cleanser: 4.5/5
Have you tried anything from Superdrugs new line? If you have, what to you think?
Have a fabulous day,
Nikki x
