Review: Sleek Eye Palette

Sleek i Divine Eye Palette, Au Naturel, £7.99

Hi guys! So I'm back with another review and this time it's a drugstore product. I know these palettes (and this one in particular) from Sleek have gained a lot of attention in the beauty community but, I just want to share my thoughts and feelings on it!

So, this was the first product I bought from Sleek and what a good choice it was! I'd had my eye on this palette for weeks and eventually decided to buy it. The only other palettes I have are from MUA and I have to say, I was a little disappointed by them. This palette, on the other side of the coin, has not let me down once.

First off, the colour selection. I absolutely ADORE this colour selection. Out of the 12 shades there isn't a single colour in it that I wouldn't use and, I use this palette every single day so that shows that the colours are nice, usable colours. My absolute favourite colour from this palette is Cappuccino (third in, top row); it's a really nice 'barely-there' coffee beige which I find so easy to use everyday. The top row of colours are definitely more 'nude' and 'naked' colours, I usually use them as base colours because they're so light.
The shadows alone have a 'creaseless' lasting power of around 3-4 hours, however with primer they can last a up to 8 hours, in fact I have never noticed them crease dramatically, even when I have put my make-up on at 7am and taken it off at 10pm. When they do crease, it's very minor and barely noticeable. However, I would definitely recommend a primer, just to be on the safe side! You don't even need an expensive one, mine is E.L.F's Eyelid Primer which is £1.50!
The colours have great pigmentation, especially the darker shades; you only need a tiny amount to get fab colour pay off!
Another great thing I love about this palette is that the majority of the colours are matte. This may be personal preference, but I think a natural palette should include a lot of matte's because I don't want to wear shimmery colours everyday. It's just a bit too much for school or work sometimes. So I love that this palette has a lot of matte's for basic everyday looks but also has a few shimmery's to brighten a look up.
The only bad thing I have to say about this product is that there can be some fall out which kind of sucks. It makes the palette messy and can then fall onto my cheeks whilst applying which is annoying because I do my eyes last.

However, overall, I adore this palette! I use it every single day and I don't think I could be without it. I will definitely be picking up some of Sleek's other palettes next time I'm at a Superdrug with a Sleek stand! I'd give this product 4/5 (it was soooo close to getting a 5/5 but the fall out let it down) and I recommend it to EVERYONE!

Have a fabulous day!
Nikki x

p.s. sorry for the lack of swatches! I was going to include some but I had technical issues, hence the image being from the Sleek website :(

Review: Clarins Everlasting Foundation

Clarins Everlasting Foundation, SPF 15, 104 Cream, £24

Hello and welcome to my first ever post! I made this blog a few months back when I started watching JaaackJack and beautycrush youtube videos and it made me really want to start blogging about beauty myself, but I kept putting it off. I've finally decided, new year, new me, and the new me likes blogging (regularly)! So, here I am, with a review.

So, on that note, let the reviewing begin!

I bought this foundation about a month ago after doing A LOT of research into different foundations and which would be best for my skin. I decided that this seemed like the one for me and the girl on the Clarins counter in Debenhams convinced me. She described it as a "medium coverage foundation with up to 16 hours wear" and I have to say, for the most part, that is exactly what it is!
When it comes to coverage, I usually go for full as I have a fair bit of redness and spot scars on my cheeks. After trying Revlon Colourstay, and finding it not to be full coverage at all, I decided enough was enough and went high end (and I've never looked back)!
I would describe the coverage this foundation gives as medium to full, but it's definitely easy to build without making you look cakey. You can tell you're wearing make-up but it doesn't look really unnatural. It feels very light on the face so, although it's full coverage, it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything.
The lasting power is amazing. I can put it on at 7:30 in the morning and it will still be covering everything and in place by 7:30 in the evening (maybe even longer)! And that was the real selling point to me. I can deal with lower coverage but a foundation has to have good lasting power.
It has a light and refreshing cucumber scent to it (which for some strange reason I mistook for watermelon when I first got it), as I'm told all Clarins foundations do, and I enjoy that, somewhat. Although the smell doesn't linger after you've finished applying, it can be a bit strong (especially whilst putting on right under your nose).
I absolutely love the packaging too! The pump dispenses exactly the right amount for your whole face so you aren't losing/wasting any (like you are with the Colourstay/other pumpless foundations) and it's really easy to control.
The only problem I have with this foundation is the shade I got. Although it's not SUPER dark, I do think 103 would be better suited to my skin, but that's not the foundation's fault I know! The lady originally tried 105 and 106 on me! I couldn't believe it!

Anyway, overall I'm incredibly pleased with this product! It lasts long, offers good coverage, smells good. What else could you want?
I give it 4/5 stars (because it takes something AMAZING to get a 5/5 from me) and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Have a fabulous day!
